The Company Seeks the Services of Senior Assistant Metallurgical Engineer X 4

Job Purpose

To provide technical support to plant operations and liaise with maintenance to ensure that plant efficiency and product quality are achieved. Carry out technical investigation on all plant parameters with a view to maintain and improve plant performance.

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

1. Direct plant operations to ensure attainment of all key performance indicators such as throughput, recovery and concentrate grade.
2. Check operating parameters on the plant such as densities, reagent addition rates and airflow rate.
3. Check the strength of the reagents such as lime, collector and frother
4. Ensures assessments for subordinates are done.
5. Liaise on the plant control assays of all streams in order to control the plant to ensure targets are achieved
6. Plans, organizes and supervises activities of subordinate staff to ensure effective and reliable services to clients.
7. Check the condition of plant equipment and liaise with maintenance personnel to ensure maximum equipment/plant availability.
8. Carry out mineralogical examinations of various streams as required.
9. Carry out laboratory and plant test work as required.
10. Troubleshoot and provide guidance to plant operatives in resolving pertinent process problems.
11. Produce the necessary routine and technical reports
12. Comply with the health, safety and environment standards/policies.
13. Adhering to all other assignments that are given that are lawful and fair.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
2. Degree in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering
3. Member of EIZ or ERB
4. Two (2) years’ experience in mining, metallurgical or environmental control laboratory

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
