The Company Seeks the Services of a Sports Development Coordinator x1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Implementing the Company’s social commitments to support Sports development
  • Work with Club Executive committees to provide strategic input and operational management of all Mopani sponsored clubs and ensure provision of relevant resources for club operations, i.e. grant administration
  • Work as a facility manager to oversee the sports infrastructure and facility maintenance schedules
  • Manage sports event scheduling for Mopani’s visibility
  • Provide risk management protocols and requirements to all facility users, including the responsibility of informing and advising them about Mopani’s Safety policies, emergency procedures, and accountability practices.
  • Development of new programs to serve the larger Mopani host community through activities such as talent identification, sports academies and charity tournaments.
  • Supervision and coordination of Mopani’s support to sports outside the grant
  • Performing administrative duties as needed such as completion of reports, incident reports, and other documentation. Prepare various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analyses, sections of reports including Corporate Affairs Departmental reports on all sports program activities and Board level reporting.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Mopani Sports Development support
  • Submit monthly reports in line with all sports activities
  • Plan and implement the budgets for all Mopani Sponsored clubs, considering potential revenues, operating costs and related publicity activities.
  • Recommend grant amounts based on different needs of the clubs
  • Work with Club management to plan for ticket sales and merchandising for the franchise and selling sporting goods

  • Work as a sports marketer or fundraiser who brings in corporate sponsors and endorsements for the full variety of sports disciplines
  • Work with Public Relations department to plan for events along with Club management teams
  • Monitor paperwork and club compliance with mother bodies and any other statutory requirements
  • Prepare communication materials and other publication for community information dissemination and sensitization
  • Undertake outreach activities; conduct training workshops, seminars etc. makes presentations on assigned topics/activities

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum Degree or Diploma in sports science, business administration/economics, community relations/community development, or related sustainable development field.
  • Qualifications in Project Management, Business Management is an added advantage
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of progressive experience in program management with a strong background in the sports/athletics sector.
  • All academic qualification should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
