Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out carpentry related works involving repair, maintenance, construction and installations.

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

1. Receiving daily assignments, instructions, sketches, work orders or drawings from Superiors.
2. Interpreting engineering drawings
3. Carrying out works using necessary tools and measuring equipment.
4. Examining equipment/plant and determining faults and state of repair.
5. Adhering to process and materials required to effect repairs and maintenance.
6. Ensuring the work area, tools and equipment are clean and tidy after completing tasks.
7. Working according to set standards to reduce losses due to poor workmanship.
8. Adhere to Statutory and Domestic Regulations relating to the Safe Work Procedures in order to minimize injury to personnel, polluting the environment and damage to company assets.
9. Driving the Health, Safety and Environment Standards/Policy Awareness and Practice in the Department to ensure compliance.
10. Adhering to all other assignments given that are lawful and fair.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
2. Craft or Technician Certificate in Carpentry.
3. Registered with EIZ
4. First Aid Certificate
5. At least 2 years of work experience.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
