Board Director

Mr. Tisa Chama, a Mining Engineer with over 25 years of working experience in the mining industry, was appointed Director on the Mopani Copper Mines PLC Board in September 2022.

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Mopani’s parent company, ZCCM-IH, has served in various technical and operational roles in the mining industry in Zambia, Namibia, East Africa, and West Africa, providing project management and lead mining technical roles for ZCCM, Konkola Copper Mines, Rio Tinto, AGA, and Barrick Gold Corporation, among other mines.

With a strong background of working in different African countries, Mr. Chama’s experience covers a range of commodities including copper, cobalt, uranium and gold. He continues to provide strategic leadership for ZCCM-IH and a host of its investee companies, including Mopani Copper Mines PLC.

Mr. Chama holds a Master of Business Administration from the Free State University, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Mineral Sciences in Mining Engineering from the University of Zambia.
