IRH-MOPANI CHALLENGE CUP DATES ANNOUNCED

Mopani Copper Mines PLC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Charles Sakanya, has urged all employees and the members of the community in Kitwe and Mufulira to turn up in large numbers for the inaugural IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup, which will be played on Saturday, 27th July 2024 at Shinde Stadium and Monday, 5th August 2024 at Nkana Stadium.

“We need all our stakeholders, particularly our employees and their families as well as all residents in our catchment area to come through in large numbers and cheer the teams on. Let us make the IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup a well-treasured competition for our teams,” Mr. Sakanya said.

The IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup is a newly introduced annual football competition funded by International Resources Holding (IRH), the majority strategic equity partner in Mopani Copper Mines PLC, and it will feature all teams under the two Mopani-sponsored football clubs, Nkana and Mufulira Wanderers Football Clubs.
The six teams to play against each other over the two weekends are the developmental sides, Young Nkana and Young Mufulira Wanderers, the women’s Nkana Queens and Mufulira Wanderers Queens and the Men’s Super League giants, Nkana and Mufulira Wanderers.
