The Company Seeks the Services of an Overhead Crane Driver x 1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Carrying out pre-shift checks on all controls and brakes to ensure that the crane is in good working order and Signing the logbook every shift.

•    Driving the crane by manipulating controls and in close liaison with the crane chaser on shop floor who direct him where he cannot see lower lifts or moves heavy equipment and materials as required.

•    Loading or unloading and stacking heavy equipment and other tasks as instructed by the Foreman during non-operation of the crane.

•    Ensuring that the crane is kept in a clean and good working condition.

•    Assisting the crew in carrying out clang duties and other tasks as instructed by the Foreman during non-operation of the crane.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate.

•    Good interpersonal skills.

•    Computer literate.

•    First Aid Certificate.

•    Certificate, permit or traceable references for overhead crane operation.

•    At least 2 years of experience in Mining Industry.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
