Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Preparing and participating in the preparations of work plans; participating in the formulation or review of policies.
- Providing counselling to clients with various medical issues.
- Diagnosing and manage all stages of illness.
- In-charge of the plant site or underground clinics.
- Rapidly responding to emergency situations
- Providing lifesaving or life preserving medical treatment and patients and patient care within his/her expertise
- Responding to and managing emergency incidents
- Providing communication and coordination of life saving resources for the Mine Plant Sites
- Dispending of emergency operations, including medical transport, patient extrication and rescue at accident scenes, splinting and bleeding control, oxygen therapy and medical and shock assessment.
- Supervising clinic staff and ensuring the smooth running of the plant site clinic activities and procedures in additions to allocating the support staff duties.
- Arranging rotation schedule to cover nights and weekend shifts apart from performing routine clinical work, and any other tasks as may be required by the supervisor.
- Conducting on-job training of staff through both practical and theory sessions.
- Compiling and submitting weekly and monthly clinical reports to the Medical Superintendent on timely basis
- Keeping complete and accurate inventory of medicines and supplies located at the clinic as well as monitoring and supervising their usage.
- Ensuring all medical equipment, supplies required for use the clinic are ordered are ordered timely
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences.
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS), Intermediate Life Support ILS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) will be an advantaged.
- All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualification Authority
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
