The Company Seeks the Services of Engineer Mine Planning Senior x 6

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Developing 1 to 12 month rolling mine plans covering development, production, backfill, and waste dump strategies.
  • Sequence mining activities (ore production, ventilation, ground support) while balancing tonnage, grade, and safety.
  • Generating forecasts (tons, grade), short-term plans, monthly reconciliation reports, and daily reporting updates.
  • Designing underground layouts—drill & blast patterns, ground support, ventilation, drainage—in collaboration with technical services.
  • Running optimization and perform scenario analysis using mine design and scheduling software.
  • Working with geology, survey, ventilation, and ops teams to align on plan execution.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • BSc/ B. Tech in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
  • Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
  • All academic and profession qualification should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
  • 3-5 years as a planner in underground hard rock mines.
  • Proficiency in mine planning software Deswik, Surpac, Datamine.
  • Strong skills in software, report writing, and database management.
  • Proficiency in English speaking and writing.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
