The Company Seeks the Services of Consultant Gynaecology and Obstetrician x 1
Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Diagnosing and effectively managing all Obstetrician and Gynaecology patients by standard management protocols of treatment to ensure better patient outcomes and early return to function and hence improve quality of life for all patients resulting in a healthy and productive population.
- Ensuring systemic and critical analysis of the quality of Obstetrician and Gynaecology care including the procedures used for diagnosis and treatment, the use of resources and the resulting outcome and quality of life for the patient. Enhance continued education, keep abreast of current developments in the department as well as conducting research.
- Providing medical advice to Management through the Manager relating to the performance (disability) and suitability to continue in employment (Medical Discharge).
- To be creative, explicit and disciplined about objectives/roles/standards in Obstetrician and Gynaecology care in order to add significant value to increased productivity and efficiency and reduce waste.
- Providing health education knowledge, attitudes, practices and behavior on preventive diseases.
- Ensuring that physical facilities, equipment, communication materials etc. are in good working order and personnel are well motivated at all times for the benefit of the patient.
- Supervising the provision of high quality services in the field of rehabilitation.
- Providing overall leadership in reviewing all Obstetrician and Gynaecology Services to prevent unjustified deviations from the established standards of care/practice.
- Maintaining open communication with Management, colleagues, nursing staff, paramedical, patients’ relatives and all staff in order to cultivate good team spirit in the department.
- Teach, train, develop and motivate Medical Officers, Nurses and Paramedicals for the provision of high quality Gynaecology & obstetric care.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) or its equivalent.
- Post graduate Diploma, Degree or equivalent (4 years course).
- Five years postgraduate practice in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- All academic and profession qualification should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
