The Company Seeks the Services of an Artisan Electrical x 1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Ensuring optimum plant/equipment availability by routinely inspecting and replacing/repairing of damaged electrical components.

•    Examining electrical installations and determining faults and state of repairs required.

•    Interpreting from engineering drawings / examining plant or equipment and determining faults / process on parts to replaced.

•    Cable jointing (including use of approved testing/specialized tools) to achieve specific or required results.

•    Reporting progress of work to superior and complete MWO to account for resources used.

•    Assigning some semi-skilled tasks to Engineering helper as authorized by Foreman.

•    Utilizing correct materials and consumables as specified.

•    Ensuring that lock out tag procedures are always followed.

•    Preventing injury to personnel and safeguarding company property.

•    Ensuring compliance to the Health, Safety and Environment standards/Policy.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate.

•    Craft Certificate in Electrical.

•    Cable jointing certificate

•    A Technician’s Certificate in Electrical will be an added advantage.

•    HT Switching certificate in high voltage will be an added advantage.

•    Valid Membership of EIZ/ERB.

•    Holder of a valid First Aid Certificate.

•    Must be physically fit and with necessary dexterity to work with tools.

•    Good oral & written Communication Skills.

•    At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
