Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Operates Main Pumps underground station complying at all times with government and domestic regulations
  • Clean the pump station/surroundings and remove sludge from dams.
  • Refuel the pumping machinery as appropriate
  • Inspect plants and equipment and tests safely devices as per Mining Regulations and Standard Procedures
  • Reports faults and defects on plant to Foreman Pumps
  • To supply water for industrial/domestic consumption and prevent the mine from flooding
  • Understand daily plans and prioritise work within the authority limits of the role.
  • Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Underground working experience will be an added advantage
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Computers Skills will be an added advantage
  • All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
