Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Identify grants based on felt community needs and their assessed potential benefit to the larger community in the areas where Mopani operates as well as the positive impact on Mopani’s corporate image.
  • Support development of sustainability plans of grant recipients to gradually reduce dependency on Mopani support
  • Recommend to management high impact community projects in the community under the Company’s key areas of focus (Public Health, Education, Basic Infrastructure, sports development and Enterprise Development).
  • Undertake compliance clearance of every grant recipient in accordance with MPL 386- Third Party Due Diligence Management Plan.
  • Conduct regular reconciliation of expenditure on the grants
  • Coordinate Company and external events that require Mopani participation as well as Stakeholder engagement meetings, particularly with executive committee members of the clubs supported by the Company.
  • Arrange and coordinate all publicity events arising from the Company’s interactions with grant recipients, scholars and other donations and ensure adverts for scholarships are published.
  • Perform Monitoring and Evaluation of grant recipients’ impact and contribution to communities by carrying out periodic evaluations on the impact of the grants provided.
  • Facilitate all approved donations and maintain a database of donations made
  • Schedule and track meetings, appointments, flight bookings, and handle travel logistics for team members
  • Recommend educational committee member appointments to Manager Corporate Affairs and act as secretary for all education committee meetings.
  • Serve as primary liaison between Mopani and external stakeholder/visitors providing information, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Perform administrative duties required from the Sponsor’s role in support of the clubs’ operations
  • Monitor and provide support to all students on Mopani scholarship

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or any related field in Social Sciences
  • An advance Diploma on Business Administration, Public relations, or Event Management
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
