Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
- Collaborate closely with the BDS to provide on-going strategic & administrative input on transforming the company’s Social Assets, including schools and clubs.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating LED-related events, including Women in Mining forums, and partner events
- Support logistics for various initiatives, such as the UNDP Supplier Development Programme rollout
- Help prepare concept notes and research materials for annual projects
- Contribute to the development of informed annual LED budgeting
- Conduct & contribute to research and evidence driven concept design
- Review external proposals for company vision alignment and support
- Conduct research on local content development, Copperbelt Agribusiness Enhancement initiatives, and other relevant topics LED is exploring.
- Compile data and information for reports and presentations
- Utilize existing database and inform your input with evidence
- Coordinate logistics for Women in Mining events and manage exhibitions at partner events
- Facilitate visits by partner companies interested in LED initiatives
- Development of new programs to serve the larger Mopani host community through activities such as talent identification, sports academies and charity tournaments.
- Provide support for cooperative capacity-building programmes
- Explore ways to provide this support to the community, looking at longevity versus quick inputs
- Strengthening relationships with Business Member Organizations (BMOs).
- Engage with Business Member Organizations (BMOs) to promote LED initiatives
- Offer executive support in local business development efforts, focusing on economic diversification and capacity-building for Zambian-owned suppliers and contractors.
- Contribute to policy interventions that promote tangible local content deliverables
- Identify and partner with organizations outside the mining sector to drive sustainable livelihood solutions, reducing sole dependency on mining activities.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Communications, or Social Sciences
- Additional certifications or training in enterprise development, project management, or community development are advantageous.
- At least 2- 4 years of experience in SME development, economic diversification, high level and community engagement
- Demonstrated knowledge of ESG principles is an added advantage
- All academic qualification should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
