Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Managing all rock drilling and blasting operations in his area of appointment.

•    Making the area safe where danger may arise due to mining operations.

•    Observing and enforcing the mining and explosives regulations.

•    Managing the safety and health of all employees under his supervision.

•    Performing any other related duties assigned from time to time by his supervisor.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

•    Valid Blasting license for all mining operations.

•    Valid first Aid certificate.

•    Must have worked not less than 2 years’ experience in the mining industry preferably underground.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
