The Company Seeks the Services of a Mineral Resource Geologist x1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Interpretation of geological data for new and inactive areas of the mine to facilitate value addition.
  • Planning diamond drill hole design, monitoring contractor drilling programmes and logging boreholes.
  • Carry out drill core sampling, QAQC and sample dispatch to the mine laboratory.
  • Capturing diamond drill hole and channel sampling data into the acQuire database inputs.
  • Underground mapping of geological structures and lithological units.
  • Supervising the updating of all plans and sections by the geology draughtsman.
  • Compiling month end reports and ensure all relevant data is captured and is up to date.
  • Proficiently use Surpac software.
  • Carrying out Mineral Resources Evaluation on different orebody structures.
  • Driving the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Bachelor of Mineral Sciences degree in geology.
  • Member of Geological Society of Zambia or Engineering Institution of Zambia.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the mining industry.
  • Not less than 3 years in a sectional geologist role.
  • Should be proficient in the use of Surpac software.
  • Knowledge and experience in orebody modelling softwares an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Zambian Mining Regulations.
  • All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
