Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Pumping and Distribution of water to various plant areas.
  • Checking on hourly basis the status of the pumps in the pump station including sump pumps.
  • Ensuring the pump operation data is recorded regularly.
  • Reporting faults and breakdowns on pumps and its auxiliaries to the foreman and make call out for respective maintenance artisan.
  • Ensuring the pump station is clean at all times.
  • Ensuring back washing is done on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring the dosing of water treatment chemicals are monitored.
  • Ensuring cleaning of settling ponds is done regularly to prevent debris build up in the filter beds.
  • Adhering to safe work procedures, fatal hazard protocols and lifesaving behaviors.
  • Safeguarding company property.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
  • Certificate in Water Operations and Supply added advantage.
  • 2 Years work experience.
  • Good Problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.
  • All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
