The Company Seeks the Services of Planner Maintenance x 3

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Develop, maintain, and update preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for underground mobile equipment (e.g., loaders, trucks, drill rigs, utility vehicles, etc.).
  • Prepare short, medium, and long-term maintenance schedules based on equipment condition, availability, and production priorities.
  • Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and ensure alignment with production and operations schedules.
  • Generate work orders for planned/ scheduled maintenance in AMT software and coordinate with supply chain team to ensure advance availability of required spare parts and tools
  • Maintain equipment master data, work orders, and maintenance history within the CMMS (e.g., AMT or similar).
  • Liaise with maintenance supervisors, planners, warehouse personnel, and operations teams to ensure timely execution of planned work.
  • Prioritize and plan backlog work to optimize maintenance resources and minimize operational disruption.
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure parts availability and proper inventory levels for critical spares.
  • Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings with maintenance and operations.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and recommend reliability improvements.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination initiatives.
  • Optimize preventive maintenance strategies based on condition monitoring data (Telemetry , Oil sample analysis) and equipment performance trends.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance KPIs (e.g., schedule compliance, equipment availability, mean time between failure (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR).

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Equipment Maintenance, or related technical field.
  • Strong technical understanding of underground mobile mining equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems).
  • Maintenance Planning certification (e.g., CMRP, MMP, or equivalent) desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of underground mobile equipment maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
  • Proficient in maintenance planning and scheduling tools (e.g., AMT or similar).
  • Solid knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles
  • Analytical mindset for interpreting maintenance data and identifying trends.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
