The Company Seeks the Services of a Lead Auditor x 1
Job Purpose
The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:
• Monitor the implementation of internal audit procedures, policies, and systems.
• Review Company policies to ensure they remain current, relevant, and effective.
• Assess the safeguarding and accountability of Company assets, ensuring protection against loss, fraud, waste, inefficiency, and poor value for money.
• Assist in developing and executing the annual risk-based audit plan to meet internal audit objectives
• Plan and conduct internal audit assignments in line with departmental policies, procedures, and the audit plan.
• Track, report, and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely issue remediation and closure
• Coordinate audit coverage with external auditors to minimize duplication of efforts
• Participate in Group audit assignments as required.
• Provide independent oversight during the implementation of new processes and systems, ensuring an effective control framework.
• Conduct special investigations as assigned.
• Prepare clear and timely draft audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Review and record management actions to address audit findings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in auditing.
• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of controls, checks, and governance measures.
• Contribute to a robust internal control environment by reviewing the adequacy of controls in new or updated policies, procedures, and systems.
• Organize, direct, and oversee activities of subordinates within the department.
• Manage, develop, and train staff to ensure they possess the required skills, experience, and certifications.
• Lead and appraise departmental staff in line with the Company’s Performance Management System.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy/ finance or professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA or CA Zambia)
• Master s Degree is an added advantage
• At least 5 years’ experience
• Relevant Professional membership
• All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority
The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
