The Company Seeks the Services of Manager Underground x 6

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Ensure effective shift deployment of manpower & Equipment at shift start. Monitor and optimize equipment utilization, manpower deployment, and shift efficiency through effective communication.
  • Oversee underground mining operations, including Development, drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, Backfilling and ore handling.
  • Ensure production targets (tonnage, grade, dilution, recovery, productivity & fill factors etc.) are achieved for the shift.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure high equipment availability and reliability.
  • Prepare a comprehensive shift report and proper handover takeover with the next shift.
  • Conduct regular underground inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits for the shift.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety practices and training for all underground personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to ventilation, ground control, and emergency response standards.
  • Provide strong leadership to mine supervisors, shift bosses, miners, and support personnel for the shift.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • BSc / B. Tech in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in underground metal mining, with at least 5 years in a senior supervisory role of Mine Captain
  • All academic and profession qualification should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
  • Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
