The Company Seeks the Services of a Maintenance Planner x 3

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance schedule for underground mobile equipment, including but not limited to haul trucks, loaders, drills, and other machinery.

•    Coordinate with the maintenance and operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment condition, production needs, and safety requirements.

•    Create detailed work orders, including labor, materials, tools, and equipment required, and ensure all necessary resources are in place for each scheduled job.

•    Review equipment performance data, maintenance logs, and downtime records to identify areas for improvement in scheduling and resource allocation.

•    Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure planned maintenance tasks are completed on time and within budget.

•    Ensure that all maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs, are scheduled in line with operational demands and safety standards.

•    Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance planning, including equipment downtime, maintenance costs, and work order completion rates.

•    Monitor and track parts and inventory levels for scheduled maintenance work, ensuring that the correct materials and tools are available when needed.

•    Assist with long-term planning and budgeting for maintenance activities, including the identification of potential upgrades or replacements for aging equipment.

•    Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement in equipment reliability and performance.

•    Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure continuous improvement of maintenance processes and practices.

•    Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all phases of maintenance work of plant equipment.

•    Adhering to all other assignments that are given that are lawful and fair.

•   Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practice in the Department to ensure compliance.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

•    Technical certification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field is preferred.

•    At least +5 years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in underground mining or heavy equipment maintenance.

•    Strong knowledge of underground mobile equipment maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

•    Previous experience with CAT, Sandvik, or Bell underground equipment is advantageous.

•    Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other planning software.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.

•    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think proactively about equipment needs and scheduling challenges.

•    Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations related to underground mining operation.

•    All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.
