The Company Seeks the Services of a Shift Boss RBS x 1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Supervise daily underground mining operations, ensuring tasks are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

•    Implement and enforce all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.

•    Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and hazard assessments, communicating potential risks and safety measures to the team.

•    Oversee quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) practices to ensure consistency in mining processes and ore extraction.

•    Monitor and evaluate the performance of miners and equipment to ensure efficient production and adherence to planned outputs.

•    Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and conduct equipment inspections and repairs, minimizing operational downtime.

•    Provide continuous coaching and training to miners on best practices, safety protocols, and operational efficiency.

•    Ensure compliance with environmental standards, integrating sustainable practices into daily operations.

•    Prepare and submit shift reports, documenting production metrics, incidents, and any operational challenges.

•    Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the team by promoting and modeling best practices.

•    Manage resource allocation, ensuring the appropriate distribution of personnel, tools, and materials to meet production goals.

•    Engage with contractors and other departments, maintaining clear communication to ensure alignment on production requirements.

•    Identify and mitigate operational risks, adjusting plans and processes as needed to maintain safety and productivity.

•    Prepare, review, and submit the annual cost center budget, ensuring alignment with training targets and approved outputs.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate.

•    Diploma in Mining Engineering.

•    All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority.

•    Valid Blasting license for all mining operations .

•    Valid first aid certificate.

•    Should have comprehensive knowledge in the Mine Regulations.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
