The Company Seeks the Services of a Telecommunications Technician  x 1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Maintain and update a clean subscriber record

•    Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages

•    Carry out Daily Preventive Maintenance on critical underground telephone lines

•    Diagnose problems and troubleshooting equipment on surface and underground

•    Maintain good cable management skills on all the Main Distribution Frames (MDFs)

•    Install, move, repair and modify telecoms equipment

•    Adherence to mining and Safety Regulations

•    Adherence to Quality Assurance Procedures

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent

•    Minimum craft certificate/Advanced Certificate in Telecoms/Electronics Technician

•    Physically fit and must be willing to work underground

•    Good verbal and written Communication skills

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
