The Company Seeks the Services of a Sprayer/Searcher – Public Health x 3

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

•    Spraying against mosquitoes and other pests.

•    Treatment of mosquito breeding sites by application of chemicals.

•    Open up drains, de-silt and de-vegetate existing drains and streams.

•    Cleaning and decontaminating assigned areas to curtail disease transmission.

•    Collection of waste from generation points with the health facilities.

•    Action pest control requests.

•    Adhering to Safe Work Procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the execution of tasks.

•    Identifying work related hazard & report all work related defects and incidents.

•    Participating in task risk assessments.

•    Adhering to routine and periodical medical examination.

•    Participating in all Health, Safety, Environmental Quality (HSEQ) awareness programmes.

•    Completing daily activity reports and registers.

•    Compiling spraying returns.

•    Handling and application of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or other chemicals required for public health interventions.

•    Performing simple repair work to spray pumps and other equipment.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

•    Grade 12 Certificate.

•    Experience in Malaria prevention & control.

•    Basic information on safe handling and application of chemicals.

•    General knowledge of disease prevention and control

•    A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage.

•    Have good oral and written communication skills.

•    At least one (01) year of experience in a similar position.

•    Computer literate.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
