Board Chairman

Mr. Mukela Muyunda, a business and finance executive with over 33 years of experience, is the Chairperson of the Mopani Copper Mines PLC Board of Directors. He was appointed Director in September 2022.

He has held several executive and strategic positions among them as Chief Executive Officer of Mopani’s parent company, ZCCM Investments Holdings (ZCCM-IH), Managing Director of Zambia Telecommunications Company Limited (Zamtel) and Director of Finance & Corporate Services for Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA). He has also lectured in Accounting & Finance in the School of Business at the Copperbelt University.

He also serves on the Public Private Partnership Council of Ministers.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Accounting & Financing from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Copperbelt University in addition to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK qualification.
