INAUGURAL IRH-MOPANI CHALLENGE CUP AIDS FOUR CHARITIES

The inaugural IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup successfully raised a remarkable sum of K220,436.27 which was doubled to K440,872.54 after International Resources Holdings (IRH) matched raised funds from the two-legged competition.

The K440,872.54 was officially presented this morning to four deserving beneficiaries at an event held at Nkana Stadium.

Among these recipients were the Twikatane Association for People Living with Disabilities situated in Chamboli Kitwe, the Day Spring Streetlife Children’s Home in Nkana West and Luangwa township in Kitwe, the Murundu Orphanage Centre in Mufulira, and Children in Distress (CINDI) of Mufulira.

In a touching gesture of goodwill, each beneficiary received K110,218 to support the noble charity work undertaken by their respective organisations.

Leading the Mopani and RH delegation in this humanitarian undertaking were Mopani’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Charles Sakanya, and IRH’s Head of HSE and Governance, Mr Ulrich Sibilsk.

The IRH-Mopani Challenge Cup was born from a shared vision between International Resources Holdings (IRH) and Mopani Copper Mines. Under the guidance of IRH’s leadership, the tournament aimed to go beyond football, fostering unity, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

This competition brought together six teams from Mufurila Wanderers and Nkana Football Club, representing youth, women, and senior men’s teams.
