MCM Primary Schools

Mopani Copper Mines PLC runs two primary schools from Reception to Grade 7 in both Kitwe (MCM Nkana Primary School) and Mufulira (MCM Mufulira Primary School). The two schools have since 2008 maintained a 100 percent pass rate in national examinations at Grade 7 and are among the most sought-after in the two districts. At every given period of the year, there are about 1,000 pupils on the waiting list for enrolment at either primary school.The school was opened in 1973 when it basically offered education to children whose parents worked as expatriates during ZCCM time, but currently the larger majority of the children are Zambians.
