MOPANI WOMEN IN MINING FORUM & B2B EXHIBITION 2025

In 2023, Mopani Copper Mines PLC launched the Women in Mining Programme as part of its broader commitment to fostering a thriving local economy. This initiative supports local businesses through capacity building, linkages, and economic diversification.

The programme is anchored on four strategic pillars:

  1. Mentorship & STEM Promotion for Girls
  2. Youth Skills & Enterprise Development
  3. Support for Women-Led MSMEs (Flagship Pillar)
  4. Professional Employee Support

The Mopani Women in Mining Forum & B2B Exhibition is the flagship event under Pillar 3. It aims to empower women-led MSMEs by increasing their participation in Mopani’s supply and value chains. Mopani is committed to growing it spend on women-led businesses (51%–100% Zambian women ownership) from less than 5% to 35% over six years.
